    You guys realize you can queue for more than 1 queue right? It is literally entirely illogical to say any queue would kill another unless one was just considered more fun for people to play. In which case, why would you get rid of the more fun thing to make the less fun thing viable? It’s the whole reason the way it was implemented was built around multi queue from the start. It even subtly encourages solo queueing since you get to go into as many queues as possible.

    Would be good if the ground around hydros and mexe were flat, sometimes you cannot build metal storage around mexes or airports next to hydros.

    Seems like a change that would make things worse not better. If I have 100 health less than the enemy acu when I die why should I lose when they should die to the explosion? You can just play non-assassination custom games if you dont like drawing games when both ACUs die at the same time. As already mentioned by pearl the potential for a draw also increases the strategic options by allowing you to try and push for a draw if you think you’re behind As for lower ranked players gaining rating, the rating system will deal with this automatically-theyll end up losing more of the games where they cant force a draw if their rank is ‘inflated’ from forcing draws, while higher ranked players should be capable of avoiding a draw against a lower ranked player. The only issue this might help is the bug that gives a win for a draw. Fundamental changes to game mechanics just to adjust a minor flaw with rating (that due to how the rating system works is unlikely to have a notable impact over time) doesnt seem like a good idea.

    I think this topic has served its purpose. Considering that both the balance lead and the game lead has objections I see no reason to keep it going. Can a moderator lock this topic? For those that came in after, here's a tldr: If manual reclaim matters, then it is only in the first few minutes of the game. At that point there is nothing better to do with your apm / attention. At any other point during the game you need to use your apm / attention to make decisions on the battlefield. As the higher rated players show, the current features that are available (patrol / attack move / attack move from factory) are reliable and sufficient to automate the task. There's no need for an additional, fourth option as it won't solve any actual problem that isn't solved by all the features that are already available.

    I eventually did. My "not rebooted for ages" i5-2500K system from 2011 gives me 98 seconds. Which makes me again laugh very hard at all the Ryzen 1st and 2nd gen system. EDIT: After killing Discord I got 93 in the next run. @jip said in Removal of CPU scores in lobby: The benchmark map (that will replace the CPU score) is roughly 50% complete. I hope to complete it by the end of May, and integrate it with the client somewhere in June. Fun fact: with comparison of the state of the game in May 2021, we already have more than 50% better performance . Looks nice. I hope that finally smokes out a lot of laptoplaggers.

    The root cause for toxicity around rating is toxic players, not that we show the rating. Hiding the rating will only fight the symptom. The toxic players will just continue raging at you, now for being a shit player in general instead of accusing you of being boosted. Is that better? Not really. Maybe a ui mod to hide the rating could be a solution. At least for the problem with your own motivation in ladder this would be nice. I don't think we can realistically remove rating from the score board for everyone as SSB is so common and we can only change the default score board.
  • Change the font of "players connected" in the TMM loading screen.

    Yep, there are quite a few other issues too at the moment. As an example, it is below the background. Sadly this area of the code is almost impossible to accurately test offline.

    I feel like I made a tactical error presenting my argument hahaha Sometimes a player leaves and the UI bugs out and mex snapping is turned off. Has anyone experienced this? I only mention it because if you have experienced it you know how incredibly annoying it is not to have that snap, which made me realize there's a chance base building could be improved if snapping was more common, not just restricted to mexes and hydros. Adjacency and occupancy make the most sense as things to snap for, if it can be done at all. In other words, this is a solution in search of a problem rather than the other way round, @arma473 (The fix for the UI breaking I mentioned is just clicking the ACU select button on the right side of the screen, by the way)
