    • RE: Sudden Crash, Happened a Few Time

@rama First, I would suggest that if you're using Windows, then please go to FAF client > top left menu > Settings > Forged Alliance Forever > Use FAF Debugger when starting Forged Alliance > ✔ > click "Get the latest version of the debugger". This will create a more detailed log to assist with troubleshooting.

Second, You have a sound bug which you can tell by the SND/XACT warnings. Simple fix steps are:

      • Windows key > type: Control Panel > Open > Sound > Playback > select the Device you use:
      • Configure > Stereo > finish configuration,
      • Properties:
      • Enhancements > Disable all enhancements,
      • Advanced > 16 bit, 44100 Hz,
      • Spatial Sound > Off,
      • Restart or Shift+Shutdown (not just Shutdown) of PC

If your headphones come with any applet/program, then you may want to disable that & try using the headphones without it. Similarly, if they use a USB or Bluetooth dongle to connect to the PC, see if you can connect directly without the dongle.

See this thread for further troubleshooting: https://forum.faforever.com/topic/4084/solutions-for-snd-error-xact-invalid-arg-xact3dapply-failed

Third, all versions of SCFA hates Alt+Tab or other things that take focus away while playing in full screen as indicated by the line info: Minimized true in your log, so if you're going to do that, then it's highly recommended that you play in Windowed (if you're not already doing so). There are programs like Borderless Gaming or scripts like one of the ones in this FAF forum thread to make the window fit the entire screen so it appears that you're playing in full screen even though you're not.

Forth, after taking the corrective actions stated above, please try playing with all mods disabled in both the FAF Client & the in-game lobby to ensure that your base FAF game is working correctly. If you still crash with all mods disabled in both locations, then please post the new game log & replay# for those that can help to have for review.

@rama The game logs for these games would be most helpful to attempt to diagnose the issue.

@caipirinhapilot First, I would suggest that if you're using Windows, then please go to FAF client > top left menu > Settings > Forged Alliance Forever > Use FAF Debugger when starting Forged Alliance > ✔ > click "Get the latest version of the debugger". Second, please click the Reply button at the bottom between the 👁 (View) icon & the "Mark unread" button. Next, please go to client > top left menu > Show logs folder > logs > sort by Date Modified. From there, drag/drop your most recent game_2xxxxxxx.log file (or whichever was from the last game that crashed due to the observer issue) into the Reply message window so those that can help (not me) have that data to look at.

@Jip Do you know if this issue has been addressed yet?

    • RE: An idea please ? I have this error again and again and again i cant launch nothing...

IIRC, this error is due to corrupted FAF game files. The only way to correct it is to delete those & let the client download them again when creating or joining a game. The easiest way to do this is FAF Client > top left menu > Show data folder > right-click FAForever folder > hold Shift > select Delete > confirm pop-up to permanently delete the folder > create of join a game from the FAF Client

@charc0b Do you have Citrix software or Sophos VPN installed?

If so, then you need to uninstall them for any version of SCFA to work, vanilla or FAF.

    • RE: game won't start

@charc0b I'd start by adding an exclusion/exception for the FAF Client in the active scan & firewall sections of their AV software & Windows Security.

If that doesn't work, then try a VPN.

    • RE: Game can not be created always update loading

@xiaxiaota said in Game can not be created always update loading:

After clicking create game, it keeps getting stuck on the file "downloading env.nx2", I've been waiting for 8 hours and it hasn't finished downloading yet, it doesn't seem to be downloading progress.
I've also had to open the web authorization every time I log in, and I can't connect to the chat room.

      • First, please go to client > top left corner > Show data folder > FAForever > gamedata.
      • Next, go to client > username in top right corner > Log Out, then close the client & confirm it's closed in Task Manager.
      • Once you've confirmed the client is closed in Task Manager, right-click the env.nx2 file > hold Shift > select Delete > confirm permanent deletion in pop-up.
      • After that, open the client > find the "Remember Me" button > ✔ > Login with Browser.
      • Finally, try creating a game for just yourself & ensure that FAF is selected as the Game Type in the Create Game screen. If the game is created, then you're good to go. If not, then further troubleshooting is needed.

    • RE: I can't pass authorization

@g-ker @Nubasuk I'd start by adding an exclusion/exception for the FAF Client in both the active scan & firewall sections of their AV software & Windows Security.

If that doesn't work, then try a VPN.

If you continue to have issues, please open Run (Windows+R) & go to the following:

      %USERPROFILE%/AppData\Roaming\Forged Alliance Forever\logs

Click the Reply button at the bottom between the 👁 (View) icon & the "Mark unread" button. Next, drag/drop your client.log file (the Text Document file without the date) into the Reply message window so those that can help (not me) have that data to look at.

@resin_smoker There's already a key bind for that regarding engineers. I think it also works on units loading into a transport, but don't quote me on that.

    • RE: Error trying to login

@niteflier I would suggest that you start by clearing your browser cache & trying again.

If that doesn't work, then try temporarily changing the Default Browser in Windows Settings, clearing the cache of that browser & trying again.

If that doesn't work, then next is to try adding an exclusion/exception for the FAF Client in the firewall of your anti-virus software & Windows Security, then try again.

If all the above fails, then my final suggestion would be to try connecting via a VPN.

If you continue to have issues, please open Run (Windows+R) & go to the following:

      %USERPROFILE%/AppData\Roaming\Forged Alliance Forever\logs

Sort by Date Modified. From there, drag/drop your client.log file (the Text Document file without the date) into here so those that can help (not me) have that data to look at.

    • RE: cant launch maps

@bluecheese2257 This error is most often associated with permissions issues, so the first thing to try is adding an exclusion/exception for the FAF Client in the active scan & firewall sections of your AV software & Windows Security.

    • RE: The game crashed while creating the game

      @zhanghm18 ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Offhand, it sounds like you might have a permissions issue. If you haven't already done so, try adding an exclusion/exception for the FAF Client in the active scan & firewall sections of their AV software & Windows Security.

That said, have you ever ran the client as Administrator?

Second, I would say try playing a game with no mods. Disable them both in the client & if you do make it to the lobby, disable them in lobby > Options > Mods (or lobby > Mods). This will ensure that you're dealing with only the base FAF game & not anything else.

Third, I would go to client > top left menu > Show data folder > FAForever > gamedata, then delete both the effects.nx2 & effects.nx5 files.

Forth, go to client > top left menu > Show game.prefs file > cache, then delete the mesh.1.5.3809 file.

If you should crash again, then go to client > top left menu > Show logs folder > logs > sort by Date Modified & drag/drop the latest game_2xxxxxxx.log file (should be the one at the top after you sorted) into your post.
