Resolved in Discord: The tool ASUS GPU Tweak prevented FAF from starting, disabling it fixed it.

@magge I have not tried to play other games but that'd be a good test. I have my games all over the PC and perhaps it's best I move them onto the C drive. Is it worth reinstalling FA and or SupCom while I am at it? I have not checked the other things yet but afaik FA may have been moved off the C drive and therefore the files aren't there

Not sure if it is related, but during my last games I was notified that my party-mate was "offline", and when game finished (without any in-game problems) we were not in a party anymore. No restart required for us, just invite again.

It now works. I was using microsoft edge and it would not let me use the link, I have switched to chrome and now it works

I was able to get FAF working again by just logging back in through the website. Don't know if the error is related to the observer bug.
