additional customisation of interface can give advantage. additional options for hotkeys as well. but for that you usually need to invest time to spend it in settings or get used to new hotkeys and interface. some mods give advantage without any drawback.. like "no shake" with ACU highligt you will never confuse sacu for ACU i don't use to many of them to give more examples But it is kinda more important that they make game easyer to play and more enjoyable. While advantage from UI mods is not big and most UI mods are available for everyone. just like you can go to settings and adjust stuff for yourself, you can go to mod vault and setup UI mods for yourself

Due to the slowness of the simulation as opposed to other games like SC2 there will probably no good "real" AI for at least a decade.

Biass's post is so good I wish I could upvote it twice. But seriously, you will never get even just decent at this game if your response to losing is to call the the enemy a cheater or a smurf. First off, I don't think cheating is even much of a thing in this game outside of specific cheat maps that I think have been cracked down on anyway, and secondly, smurfs, as annoying as they are, are just an opportunity to learn. I've dealt with more than one smurf in the past (I mean a confirmed smurf, I knew their main account and it's not some random accusation), and each time I'd watch the replay to see how they'd beat me. I do that generally if I don't know how I lost, but I take special interest if it's someone beating me who is consistently better and not just a one off thing. That's how you get better, not by just throwing random excuses and accusations around.

I could be wrong but i don't think anyone thinks rating is a 100% perfect test of skill. One player could get up to 1400 from winning astro games while someone like me stays around 1200 cus i play all sorts of different games. Rating is just a general guide and means different things for different people. Now if someone has 2 accounts thats not great but if they just have a low rating for their skill i agree that is not at all smurfing.
