    • RE: Connection issues that seem to have nothing to do with quality of network

Back in the good old days, lag was the players fault. Now that we have this huge technological mess, lag is a random thing AND caused by individuals and there is zero indicators to see the cause.

    • RE: When I close FAF client, I cannot start FAF client without restarting my computer

Just kill the task in the task manager. But yeah, this bug should get fixed. The FAF client is a mess, most of the time you close it, it stays open in the background and even increases cpu load.

Yeah that change was shitty and the option to deactivate it doesn't work properly, it also deactivates the ringing of the mexes.

      @brutus5000

@brutus5000 said in Status of Game? It sucks!:

No the reconnection feature was a nice side effect, the main problem it solved was establishing connections without port forwarding (similar to what Skype made so successful)

But why doesn't the side feature work anymore? That shouldn't have anything to do with server load, ddos, broken hard drives and so on. Are there no logs, client or server that exactly causes the impossibility to reconnect?

    • RE: Status of Game? It sucks!

There are two problems. One is the instability and the other that ICE doesn't reconnect the players - a feature that worked once upon a time. Wasn't the reconnection feature even the number one goal why ICE was invented?

And I don't know if it is only me, but when I quit FAF, it stays most of the time in the task manager and I have to end the task.

    • RE: Will TML ever be balanced?

      "just build tmd id.."

i don't see the point. the missiles in the tml cost a lot of ressources so it has to cause some damage, otherwise it would be completely useless and tmd are cheaper.

An official statement on this topic would be nice. Like why this is happening and if it will or can be fixed. If this goes on, sooner or later the game will be dead.

    • RE: Reconnect after Connection loss

I use the updater, so I should always have the latest version. Timeout happens so often these days, it also got me yesterday. My connection was away for 5 seconds, but I timed out for all people.

I can't remember the last time, a player came back from timeout, must be some months.

    • Reconnect after Connection loss

Why doesn't FAF reconnect anymore after a player lost his connection for some seconds? I remember that with the introduction of the ICE-client, it wasn't a problem anymore. Now it is a worse as it was before the new protocol it was introduced. Did I miss something, was the support for this feature removed some months ago?
