@Jip I was not aware, thanks for mentioning that. 🙂 Like I said, I am very new to FAF, but I will see if I can figure it out.

Done with the details on the armor and external plating. The body details are generally less specific and don't seem to be consistent, so I may just apply effects to see if I can find something that most accurately imitates the look. Debating if I want to try and print this beast, or mess around with the rest of the details before printing.

In other news, I messed around a bit trying to export the models from the game, but have not figured it out yet. If anyone has words of wisdom on getting those, I would appreciate it.

@ELCroisidh There is some general information here:

All the assets are stored in the gamedata folder, that resides in the installation folder. Inside are .scd files that stands for Supreme Commander Data. These are just renamed zip files: change the extension to .zip and unpack them. The relevant SCD file would be units.scd.

I'm not that knowledgeable about the Blender plugin - it may be this:

But I think there is a more recent version - @MadMax can you shed some light on this?

That Blender plugin does work, but only for Blender 2.7. I'm unaware of an updated version

@Jip Interesting, clearly I still have much to learn. Regardless, thank you and all for the info. Someday I may figure it out.

For now I am going to continue to detail this Aeon Com before attempting another print. I did just get some new filament and paint in today, but I have a few other current projects to get through.
                  Thanks again!

                  Update:

Finally located the game data files, plugin worked like a charm, thank you @Rowey.

All in all I'd say I was pretty close.... Interesting some details in the upper arms that I never picked up on.

Can the cannons rotate on the summit? Could you edit the model so they could? (Make the cannons separate pieces then attach them after printing)

That summit is pretty awesome. Looks like you had to do several of the turrets and radar towers as separate pieces? Either way, nice job getting them all straight, and nice job on the model in general.
Do you use vapor baths in your post processing? I haven't tried it, but I was considering trying it for smoothing.

Everyone's on about that summit, but what about that Fatboy!

And the only real question is: can the summit float? 🤔

@ELCroisidh thanks! yeah the body was cut in 4 pieces, guns and small objects printed separately, its pla plastic so i use DHM for post processing
