Also even though the adjustment for the league month hasn't been merged yet, games in May will still count retroactively. Hopefully the leaderboard itself will reflect scores by tomorrow.

The Tournament is Over! The Champion and winner of the $100 prize is... EspinoZa! Alongside Swkoll coming in with the runner up $50 prize. The tournament certainly was close, it seemed like any of Swkoll, ZLO, EspinoZa, or Shen had a chance to grab the 1st place spot by the end of Day 1 and even by the time of the final round in Day 2 the top placements were still up in the air. There were several great moments during the series but the tournament arc of Swkoll is perhaps the best story of them all. He slayed the giants of EspinoZa and ZLO on the first day and looked to have a shot at securing the top slot all for himself. Then, he fell to Auriko in the last round of Day 1 which brought him back into contention with the rest of the tournament pack. Ultimately, he got a 2nd place finish due to the fact Tex was able to snatch a series win from him on Day 2. Judging by the fact Swkoll had 3 different games where he had 1:10 odds of beating his opponent, and he won all 3, he certainly seems to be the type that never likes being told the odds. Or maybe he does and that's what he uses to fuel his upsets. Nexus isn't motivated to play any try hard 1vs1, Turbo and Yudi play 1vs1 ocasionally when they feel like it, same for Blodir. BH said he is only really interested in tourneys but it seems like he is keen to play some show matches on the map gen maps especially the unexplored ones that he was pushing for. It mostly comes down to motivation, if you have motivation to play and try hard but there are no opponents to play versus then you get demotivated. It's a viscous cycle where you need enough players with motivation to play at a given moment otherwise there won't be any games. You may say that it's players fault that they loose motivation so easily but the truth is that this game IS hard and going back to your desirable form takes a lot of time, effort and practice which is tiring. To give you an example after playing 2-3 1vs1 games of decent length I am mentally tired and I won't play more, sometimes for a couple of days.

This is really cool to look at. Really nice to know who's replay to watch when learning certain maps. It would be really nice if you continue to post these.

@Neytron если турнир покажет себя хорошо, то будет проведен турнир для 1600-1700+ игроков. Если будет хороший призовой фонд и поддержка турнира, то так же будут проведен турнир для 1200-1600 игроков.

I'm not sure how often people are playing 1v1s on 4/6 spawn maps, but that's probably part of why Palms and Badlands are so good (Petric perfectly explained why these two are my equal favourite maps), and the mapgen can create that pretty easily. You could turn the mexes (and maybe reclaim) slider(s) right down to avoid having an obscene amount of mass.

The AI developers learned a lot. Most AI was developed for 1v1 play, and team play is new. Next years AI will be much smarter and AIx factors will be adjusted accordingly. Some maps that did not play well, will be changed. I've already come up with some fun things to try in RC IV

So the tournament has sadly been postponed due to lack of interest a new date. I'll announce the new date within a couple weeks, until you can look forward to another SCTA Show Match Game. This time in addition to players playing TA v Supcom, we will have ArmoredFish and Ozone on stream talking about the mapmaking process. And as a preview from Balthazar, creator of Brewlan, have a preview of the new SCTA ARM Commander [image: 1610841605340-scta-arm-commander-imgur.png]
