I am sure most people on FAF know who I am. I am so old my player ID is 517. I have played since the old Supreme Commander GPG days. What is that 2007.

Anyway I have heard and seen a couple of things that concern me. And I would like FTX, Morax and Penguin give me their perspective on this.

I have seen posts FTX talking about getting rid of the Global Player Rating. Why is this? FTX says in another post that If I want to see improvement in my rating that I have to play matchmaker. This just doesn't add up. He even calls out Setons, Asto and Gap players like there is something wrong with playing that map.

I play Setons, Setons and Setons.
You should be able to play any map and have the opportunity to become the number #1 rated player. I mean if I want to be a 3k rated player that only plays ISIS so be it. Everyone knows and can check a players replays. I am not interested in playing ladder or matchmaker. IMHO what ever map players want to learn and play go for it. For me it's Setons.

I think most players want to know who is the best. It's kind of a challenge to best that person right?

I will review your reply's and base my vote on what I see. And I hope players votes actually count.

I thought that Syndicus was wanting to host a Setons Tourney that wasn't a total Stack like the last one. So setting the rating cap lower allows for this. I mean honestly where do the average players fit in? I don't want to play another Tourney where the players are rated 2300/2000/1800/1700, this doesn't allow room for us plebs.
Honestly if I am gonna just throw away $50 and 8hrs time for sure. Why not buy some lottery tickets go to the bar and get drunk.

6600 allows for a 2300ish, 2 1500ish players and a 1300. Doesn't this sound like more FUN? It does to me. I even put money down to prove it.
If you want a 2k+ Setons tourney host your own and put some money up.

I like to use the Shit Sandwich approach.

First off let me say that I appreciate all the hard probably unpaid work that many of you guys do to make FAF work.

Now I want to point out that I have basically sat back for many years and seen FAF change over and over and over. Balance changes, eco changes, unit changes and such. many of them I really didn't care for.
IMHO many of these things were done to placate 1v1/ladder players.
Probably like many players we have just played and adapted for the love of the game, without much of a complaint. I also know and talk with many old FAF/GPG players who have left because of these changes.

And what the hell is this about some maps no longer being included in the global rating system? To me being an older adult this honestly seem petty. I don't care what maps players want to play. It's just like I say and live by "who cares if your gay or not" to each his/her own. Enjoy.

I want a commitment or pledge from the elected PC that He/She will not remove the global rating system.

Again to all the people who work endlessly on this game. I applaud you. We need you and many more to make this work. I know i couldn't do it.

I see that there are several players that have ratings between 1100-1300 that would like to play the tournament. I think you should allow them to join some of the teams that need a player. Even though it would put them slightly over the rating cap. We do need to fill those teams. Also what are your thoughts on making the tourny a 10 team one? We do have alot of additional players that would like to play.
I'd love to see Yudi join and have some fun.
