client hangs on log in

I started the faf client as usual about an hour ago and suddenly everyone's pings in the lobby i joined were maxed out. So I relaunched the client and now it won't log in anymore. I reinstalled and it still won't launch. Is this server side? I launched sup com fa through steam and I have just played and won a 3 way ffa no problems.
edit: 5 hours later I can log in now. I guess it was server slow down or something.
