Can't update FAF

Booted up FAF today to play. Greeted with a splash screen saying
"This client version 2023.1.2 is too old to proceed. The server requires at least version 2023.6.0. Please update to a more recent version"
I press the download update button which immediately changes to say "Download at 100%" and then nothing further happens, it just sits there indefinitely

Turns out I was just being impatient, eventually the faf client sort of crashed and opened an install wizard
