Stuck in connect screen and none of my friends can join my games

the game doesn't give me any error messages, and i can see everyone's games. i can attempt to join them but then i get stuck in the connecting screen and it doesn't do anything, it doesn't freeze it just doesn't do anything more. and then its the same for when they try to join me.
