    Launching FA on Linux issue

      Hi! I recently tried installing Steam on my Ubuntu 18.08 Linux machine and followed the instructions under https://wiki.faforever.com/index.php?title=Setting_Up_FAF_Linux#Install_using_native_Steam . Things seemed fine and FA was launched but it immediately crashed with the following error message:

      CD3DDeviceResources::DevResInitResources: Unable to load effect file /effects/cartographic.fx

        have u started fa normally on ur pc since u restarted? sometimes i will crash if i have not loaded normal fa

          I have not tried running FA on Linux before so this is my first time trying.

            ah ok, try just running fa from steam with proton then launching. Might not be the issue but its worth a try.

              Yeah I am using Proton 5 already to launch FA as per the linked guide. Just hoping someone who is currently playing on Linux can share their setup!

                sorry, i use linux for faf all the time but i do not recognize the error. Are u sure u provided the correct file path to the client?

                  How do you set up FA? I did not have to provide any path -- just launch Steam on Linux and then try to launch supcom FA and failing.
