Help with setting up a Survival game

Hello, I've been trying to get a suvival game going with the "AI Wave Survival" Mod. It says in the description that it will turn any map into a survival map, but how? If I activate this mod and start a normal map nothing happens. Only on those dedicated survival maps. Can someone explain to me how I have to set it up so it works? Possibly with AI allies to help. Thanks in advance!
