Removing Old unit after creating an upgrade.

Hello there,
As the title suggests, I've modded a few units to "upgrade" physically into completely different units. That part has been a success but how do I go about removing the old unit?
Currently, my T1 tank just "builds" a T2 version of itself and I end up with two vehicles instead of one. Any help with this would be phenomenal!! Thank You!
