Crashing in MP with bots

My friend consistently crashes in any MP game we try to set up. With me as host, I never crash, but he always does. Whether that's 3 minutes in or 15 minutes in. We checked the common problems and fixes page, but we can't change his audio to Stereo because he doesn't use speakers, just headphones. I scoured the logs myself but couldn't really see anything popping up except a few specific things but not much on fixes;

Sometimes he gets a lot of lua scripts right before crashing, the most common being any "xnb---" script

XN(x) is Nomads but a quick skim doesn't stand out as anything useful. You playing with any mods active?

@Dragun101 Yep, we play with Nomads, but only Nomads.
