Winning ladder games lowers my rating

It's happened twice in the last day. I play a ladder game. I'm matched against a low rated player. I win. FAFscore says my rating was REDUCED due to the win.
What the heck?! This needs to be fixed. Lose points for a win, lose more points for a loss... why even play ladder?!
